Paprika extract is the essential oil, oleoresin, essence, or extractive, derived from paprika, which is used to color or flavor food products. Annatto extract comes from the resinous seed coat of the achiote tree. Considered a natural food color, it is used predominantly for its orange-yellow color, but sometimes also for its flavor and aroma.
